My first challenge today was after church we went to Carl's Jr. We have been going there quite a bit and Usually I would get the Teriaki Burger and fries and my Diet Dr. Pepper. Well, today I opted for a nice salad instead. I was hungry a few hours later and ate some leftover baked beans and chicken but not much. Tonight I ate a pasta salad with light italian with cucumber, tomato and olives (at my church) and when I got home I had a can of tuna on top of some tortilla chips. Chips, not so good for me but I am getting better. Tuna just had spices and lemon on it.
So I wanted to again state my goals for this week so I know what I am working on.
1. No candy and/or junk food
2. No fast food (even a kids meal? NO)
3. Make it to gym 3 times this week
4. Drink 64 oz of water a day
I added that last one cause it really is a good one and one I need to work on.
I signed up for E-mealz tonight and am looking forward to planning and making some great meals for my family. Thank you Amber!!!
Wow, I just noticed its almost midnight. I better get to bed so I can get my boy up at 6.
I will let you all know if I hear from the doctors office or if I call them back and find out something. Take care and have a great week.
I think you made a great call on starting now. I had a couple of months before my surgery and I think that by starting the day I set my date that it has helped me be better prepared for the band and get a head start on teaching my body and mind how to eat for the rest of my life. Good luck! My favorite laughing cow is the garlic and herb!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for starting now to get ready. I think that's the whole idea behind being banded... know what to eat and how to eat. MyFitnessPal.com is a great way to track what you eat and how many calories, etc. The app is also on the iphone and android phones. I love it and because I was just recently banded with no restriction, it helps me to stay focused on what i should and should not be eating. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt's a terrific idea to begin working on changes at this point. My bariatric folks have me working on changing my eating patterns - smaller portions, chewing until the food turns to mush, eating slower (MUCH slower), and more water...
ReplyDeleteGood luck - we'll wait this thing out together!!
I agree Lisa. I have realized that I am a terribly fast eater which will kill me when I get banded so I really need to work on that. I will make that a goal for next week (but try this week). Thanks all for advice.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! You will start losing tons of lbs for sure!
ReplyDeleteKudos to the salad!!! I know it can be hard to turn down the goodness sometimes but its going to be sooo worth it in the end. I had laughing cow cheese one time before and it was sooo good. I will have to add that to my grocery list for next time too. Your goals are awesome and doable! Way to go!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making the changes now, it'll make the transition alot easier. :) Great goals, also - I'm still working on integrating those same ones!
